About Department

Department of Botany established in academic session 1984-85 with beginning of Science Faculty. Botany is one of the core subjects at B.Sc. level. Admitted students can have option of two/three subject groups for first degree level (B.Sc.).
        “To Educate Students from Western Vidarbha and from Maharashtra by Providing Quality Education so that they become good Botanist, Academicians and Administrators, who in turn shall improve the quality of the Human race”.

Mission

To educate students from the local and rural areas, so they become enlighten individuals improving the living standards of their Families and Society.

To inculcate passion for excellence through knowledge of Plant Science, Field visit and Scientific Projects leading to elevated Carrier Profiles and National Development.

Objective

Graduates of the B.Sc. programme will be able to: Understand the fundamental ideas, guiding principles, and scientific theories underlying a variety of scientific phenomena and the significance of these ideas to everyday life.

To inculcate Scientific Aptitude among the students.

To acquaint students with the natural world and other living creatures.

To encourage students to employ both soft skills and scientific logic.

Acquired a variety of communication abilities, such as reading, writing, speaking, etc., that will aid in conveying thoughts and opinions succinctly.

Acquired expertise using scientific tools, organizing and carrying out laboratory experiments, recording the findings, and making logical conclusions from them.
