About Department:
Economics Department of Jijamata Mahavidyalaya, Buldana was established in July 1956. Initially Economics was taught at undergraduate level.
Postgraduate classes were started on Grant-in-Aid basis in Economics from 1972. Late Shri. R. N. Kharche, the noted economist was the founder principal and Head of the department of economics.
Vision:
Department of Economics has full faith in Jijamata Mahavidyalaya’s committed mission, of the part of body “Tamso Ma Jotirgamaya” which will be producing intelligent, noble, tolerant, confident, courageous, self reliant Economics students who may themselves to be good, healthy and responsible citizens and shall improve the quality of humans”.
Mission:
To generate the interest of Socio Economic study among the students.
To impart qualitative and value base education for personality development of students.
To develop mentally and socially healthy students to enforce and build up healthy nation.
To create scientific attitude and social awareness and civic responsibilities for national economy.
To develop confidence, self reliance, courage, sense of equity, equality and involvement in decision making process in all spheres of life among the students.
To educate rural students so that they will be strong in this competitive era.

Consumer Awareness through the ‘Jago Grahak Jago’ programme.
To make the students aware about the importance of economics.
To provide theoretical and practical knowledge to the students.
To engage the students in debates about the current economic situation of the state, national & international level.
To make the students aware about the importance of economic stability in human life.
To develop the overall personality of students.
To make the students aware about the economic development & economic growth of society as well as nation.
